




2016 Special Events
There's something for everyone at the Audubon County Fair! Below you will find a few of the special events the keep our fair unique and fun!

4-H Pie and Muffin Auction
Help support the programs and efforts of the Audubon County 4-H program by purchasing pies and muffins baked by 4-Hers and other local baking celebrities! Following the Children's Theatre in the grandstands on Thursday, July 14th, pies and muffins will be auctioned off to raise money that helps fund 4-H workshops, scholarships, and events!

Fairy Garden Contest
Use your imagination and create a fairy garden for the show, sponsored by the Green Thumb in Exira! A public vote July 15-16 will determine the winners in the adult (17+) and youth (16 and under) divisions. Entries are due by July 14th at 6pm and will be released with open class exhibits on Sunday. Farm Rock Free Concert
Ready for a 4 hour jam with a band that doesn't take a break? Farm Rock, an Iowa-based country Top-40 cover band, will be playing a FREE concert at the grandstand from 7-11 PM. Food will be avalible and alcoholic beverages will be on grounds. Click Here for samples of Farm Rock's music!

Farm Bureau Cookout Contest
Fire up the grill and get cooking! The Audubon County Farm Bureau will host its annual Cookout Contest on Friday, July 15th. The contest, designed to showcase Iowa meats, features many categories, including beef, pork, poultry, lamb, and more! Team and youth competition will also be available. Cooking starts at 3:00 PM, with jud at 5:00 PM. Conact the Audubon County Farm Bureau at 712-563-3594 for more information.

Super Saturday: July 16th
Saturday is a day designed just for kids! The morning begins with the baby contest, big wheel races, pedal tractor pull, and Ima Clown face painting and balloon tricks in the hoop building and children's games outside the agrihall. The afternoon features laser tag, and kids' mutton bustin' and goat tyin' in the horse arena! The inflatables will also be around all day (11 AM-9 PM)! Figure Eight Races
In recent years, the Bull Valley Speedway has been transformed into a fabulous figure-8 track! The fair special race will be Friday July 15th. Pits and registration open at 5:00 PM and racing starts at 7:30 PM. FWD and RWD classes. Adults admission is $7, kids 12 and under are FREE, and food is availible.

Antique Tractor Drive
Fire up the Farmall or jump on your John Deere and participate in the Annual Tractor Drive, Sunday July 17th, for any tractor 1975 and older! There will be a poker run along the route and lunch provided. Registration begins at 8 AM outside the Agri-Hall, and all participants will meet back there for lunch at noon. Monster Arm Wrestling
Start pumping that iron! The Monster Arm Wrestling competion, as seen at the Iowa State Fair, will be coming to the Audubon County Fair on Saturday, July 16th. Registration begins at 6:00 PM, with tournaments for men and women. More information to come!

Antique Tractor Pull
The Audubon County Fairgrounds will host an Iowa Central Pullers Association antique tractor pull on Sunday, July 17th. Registration begins at 11:30 AM, and will feature classes I-V with National Rules. Hook fee is $25. Contact Chris Schultes at 712-304-0133 for more information.

ACMH Foundation Mud Run
For the 3rd year in a row, grab your old tennies and run out to the racetrack for the Audubon County Memorial Hospital Foundation Mud Run. This year's race will be held on July 16th at the grandstand. Registration begins at 2:00 PM, with the youth (8-12) course opning at 2:30 PM, followed by the adult course at 3:00 PM.
